I’m a photographer and journalist here in North Hollywood for The LA Sports Network. Yesterday I took the train to Banc of California Stadium for the first time to save on extremely overt parking costs around the stadium. Getting there was so simple I couldn’t believe it, and I even made a couple friends along the way. Coming home I was a little more cautious because of the “rumors” you hear about riding the subway late at night, “not safe” through the downtown area of Los Angeles, which is really the “hub” of all train connections. Nevertheless, the LA vs Minnesota MLS game was fantastic, we won 2-0! But now it’s time take the train back home.

Still trying to think positive but feeling a little nervous at the same time I went for it. When I got on the train by the stadium not too far from USC, I heard the 3252’s chants coming from one of the cars which I thought was kinda cool…..once on the train I saw several police and security keeping things intact. As the train continued down the track I was still hearing singing and LAFC chants coming from another car. I eventually made it to my transfer point with no problem and feeling totally safe with the large presence of the police.

So I go down stairs to catch my transfer train and what do I hear and see? A massive amount of LAFC fans from the LAFC’s 3252 singing, chanting and jumping as if they were still in the stadium, but they were just waiting on the next train (which took about 20 min). This standing room only crowd completely filled the subway platform singing and chanting and it was FANTASTIC! It made this so called (scary train ride) a total blast! And I can’t wait until the next game so I can ride the Metro again, because it was VERY cost effective and fun!.......So LAFC’s 3252, man I love you guys (and metro too). Hey everyone, check out the Metro to the game. It beats paying $35-$100 just for parking, and you’re guaranteed a good time with LAFC’s 3252!

LAFC AND FORWARD ADAMA DIOMANDE MUTUALLY AGREE TO PART WAYS

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today that the Club has mutually agreed to part ways with forward Adama Diomande due to personal considerations.

“We believe that being an LAFC player is about more than just what happens on the field,” EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager John Thorrington said. “Dio made us aware of a personal situation he is dealing with, and together we were able to work out a solution for both parties. We wish him all the best and are thankful for everything he helped us accomplish in Los Angeles.”

Since joining LAFC during 2018’s international summer transfer window from Hull City, Diomande recorded 20 goals and 11 assists in 44 regular season matches, making 29 starts. An instrumental piece of the Club’s 2019 Supporter Shield winning squad, the Norwegian international was a five-time MLS Team of the Week honoree, one-time MLS Player of the Week, one-time MLS Player of the Month and scored the first hat-trick in Club history on June 30, 2018.

LAFC returns to regular season play on Saturday, August 22 versus the LA Galaxy. Kickoff at Banc of California Stadium is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on FOX, ESPN 710am, KFWB 980am.
