A Family Tradition: LACR MX
Dirt bikes and motocross have been a way of life for the Barbacovi family since the 1970s, with their roots tracing back to CRC. Jack Barbacovi took the reins at LACR MX from 1985 to 2010. After the track's closure, Anthony Barbacovi, fueled by his love for the sport, persisted in discussions with Granite Construction for several years to revive the beloved dirt bike haven.
With Granite's approval, Anthony assembled a team including Richard Kutbach and Jeff Gillespie to rebuild the main, veteran, and pit bike/mini bike tracks. They utilized Granite's mined sand to create the foundation for the soft, open sand tracks that LACR MX is known for today.
Maintaining the tracks has been a continuous effort. Eli Krytzer and Anthony Barbacovi previously ensured the tracks were in pristine condition, and today, Anthony leads a dedicated crew who meticulously groom the corners for an exciting ride every week.
The passion for motorcycles extends throughout the LACR MX family. From the welcoming staff at the entrance to Don, who coordinates practice sessions based on your needs, the flaggers on the track, and the crew who keeps everything watered and prepped, everyone shares the Barbacovis' enthusiasm. Their dedication goes a long way in creating fun and safe weekends for all their guests.
LACR MX welcomes riders of all ages and skill levels, fostering a true family atmosphere. They invite you and your family to experience the thrill of motocross for yourselves.
