The Athletisism of Drum Corps
Most people think of a Drum Corps as just another marching band.... Well that’s about as far from the truth as you can get. Actually, the athleticism of a Drum and Bugle corps is as demanding if not more, than the NBA, Olympic track and field, and the NFL, with the mind set of college Calculus…..all at once!
Yes, this is a SPORT!

The Moonlight Classic is one of the oldest continuing Drum & Bugle Corps show in the western United States. The Moonlight Classic has featured top Drum & Bugle Corps from throughout the country, such as The Blue Devils, the Santa Clara Vanguard, the Cadets, the Phantom Regiment, the Boston Crusaders, and many others.
The 34th Annual Moonlight Classic will again be held on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 at Hornet Stadium on the beautiful Sacramento State University campus. Corps participating in the longest running show in California include:

The “Best of the West” will take the field when DCI West returns to Northern California’s beautiful Stanford Stadium on Saturday, June 22. Included among the lineup of Pacific corps like the Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard at this year’s event will be a first-ever appearance by Carolina Crown who will make the trek from South Carolina to California at the beginning of the 2013 season.

The main drum corps event in Southern California! Corps at the Crest Walnut takes place at Mt. San Antonio College’s Hilmer Lodge Stadium on Saturday, June 29. The stage will be set for a first-ever early season battle between the first-ranked in the East (Carolina Crown) and first-ranked in the West (Blue Devils). This is a show you will not want to miss!

City Sound Drum Corps out of Los Angeles, starts off their 2013 season with brand new, newly built out equipment trailer. Dawning their signature blue and white corps colors, city sound has even more surprises in store for this season and especially 2014 (but I was told not to let the cat out of the bag just yet. Corps Director Nate lewis and his staff are working on some LA history making making events for this corps. So stay tuned to TDCN for the latest drum corps gossip.
